Just click on this black thingee above.
It is now included in the list to the left and is called A Big Lesson In My Life. I hope you'll enjoy it and maybe learn as I did As of today, December 2, 2005, The Old Professor will be on leave. To be honest, I have discovered maintaining this site properly takes more time than I currently have to spare. I’m working on a new site that will honor my late son, Michael Henry, and his music and hopefully I will be able make it available to you for listening and downloading. Therefore, as of now, I will keep this page as it is and hope you might find something of interest here. I will devote what available spare time I have to my blog. If you want to stay in touch with what I’m doing on a day to day basis, I'll welcome you to my blog site at Old Prof's Bolg Site The Old Professor Carmel, CA December 2, 2005 P.S. If you would like me to notify you when Michael's web site is available please click here to e-mail me. Click here to a sample Mike's music August 30, 2005 If you are reading this the chances are you at least have electricity available. As you know, there are the victims of Hurricane Katrina who do not. They also have almost nothing left of their lives. They need help! Instead of browsing the web, why not click here to get to the Red Cross web site. Then make a donation to help your fellow man. They will accept donations as small as $5. Be patient and tenacious because the web site apparently is really busy. Alternatively, you could call 1-800-HELP NOW but do it NOW! August 2005 This web page is my playground and of late I’ve been playing with a menu across the top of the page. It’s fairly crude right now but I’m having fun trying to improve it. I appreciate your patience. July 25, 2005 I've added a new link near the top of the sidebar to the left. I think it's an amazing web site and urge you to try Library Spot if you need to find any kind of information. July 17, 2005 I recently was requested to write a blog explaining how I managed to lose so much weight. Since what I wrote has some length I’ve posted it at my web storage site in order that those who are not interested in that subject will not have to wade through it here. If losing weight interests you click here. July 9, 2005 On the sidebar to the left I have added a little story and a picture of my dad as a motorcycle cop. June 23, 2005 I recently discovered another wondrous feature of Google -- their new, improved mapping program. Take a look by clicking here. June 22, 2005 This is an amendment to my posting of May 27 where I told you we had our story had been in the local paper. At that time I had rather poor pictures scanned from the newspaper. I have since been able to get better pictures and I hope you might go back and take another look. We really don’t look as horrible as those other pictures. You can either scroll down a few days or just click here to revisit Fame and Fortune. June 21, 2005 The other day I took a few minutes to jot down an adventure I had many years ago. It was one that taught me a couple of things I still remember. I'd like to share it with you if you have a couple of minutes. To read it just click here.. June 20, 2005 I have gathered a few pictures of me in "The Old Daze". To see them click here. May 27 2005 A staff writer for our local paper wrote an article about Jen-Chi and me, and it was published today. It was about how we met online, etc. You can read it by clicking on Fame and Fortune to the left. I hope you enjoy it. We had fun doing it and even enjoyed reading it. May 20, 2005 Yesterday I received the joyous news that I will be the lucky recipient of a root canal. Oh joy! Fortunately, this won’t take place for about 10 days, so I will be able to more thoroughly enjoy this dull throbbing sensation. I wonder if I will miss that feeling when it’s all over. Meanwhile, I’m gulping antibiotics three times a day to get things started in the right direction. I’m sure you can’t wait to hear the rest of the story. April 20, 2005 ![]() Today I have put up something many people seemed to enjoy when I wrote it in 1985. At that time I had just acquired my first computer, which was a TRS-80 made by Radio Shack. It had a small, black and white only screen and no graphics. There was no such thing as disk storage then and nothing like what we have today. So, keep that in mind if you decide to read "My Letter to the Pope ‘85” (See left) and notice the references to computer memory and speeds are rather outdated today. Nonetheless, I thought I would leave it in its original form. Note: I didn’t want to post this earlier in light of what has been going on at the Vatican but now that things have settled down, I hope you enjoy it. April 9, 2005 I am going to ask for your patience for a few more days. It is my intention to eventually fill this center section with information that might help you to better move around this web site. Hopefully there will be places where my family pictures are stored and there will be other sections where you might find something useful. I might even find it necessary to create a section for Nonsense and another for Utter Nonsense. Meanwhile, stuff I have written is to the left. Click on anything you might want to read. Return by clicking Back on your browser. Whatever comes up I hope you're having fun. I know I am! The Old Professor Carmel, California P.S. I don't have anything set up for comments yet. If you would like to contact me by e-mail just click here. I'll enjoy reading your comments -- hopefully. March 20, 2005 This is the page where I am testing out things I think might be fun. Many, maybe most, of the links listed to the left were originally posted to my blog site at Blogspot.com. More news today, March 1, 2005 Since my drivers license was expiring on my birthday this year, I went online and made an appointment with the California Department of Motor Vehicles to go through the procedure of getting my drivers license renewed. Chalk up another winner for the Internet!Since a written test, an eye test and a photograph are involved I expected to spend several hours there, as I have done in the past. My appointment was for 8:40; I arrived about 8:30 and was home ( about 10 minutes away) before 9:00. I never sat down at all, though there were many people doing just that. Oh yes, I passed the written test and the eye test (with corrective lenses) with flying colors and now have a driver’s license that is valid until I am 87 years old. Can you believe it?
March 10, 2005 My blog site seems to be down today.
